3 GREAT HACKS
With #ikeahack tagged over 600k times yearly, we receive a treasure trove of DIY ideas. Each week we share 3 great IKEA hacks shared with us that we think you’ll like (and we didn’t post). Here’s what caught our eye this week:
#1💎
Why we like it: The combination of IKEA's Enhet kitchen cabinets, Pax wardrobes, and a Metod wall cabinet creates a practical and pleasing laundry room. The mix of different IKEA elements highlights their adaptability, offering custom solutions. The chosen color adds a calm feel to the space.
#2💎
Why we like it: This dressing room, made entirely from IKEA products, embodies simplicity and style. Using a wood frame and MDF to create a built-in effect adds elegance to the room. The integration of the dressing table between the units ensures a smooth, unbroken visual flow.
#3💎
Why we like it: This customized IKEA washstand stands out with its beautiful copper tones. The alteration adds a personal touch and integrates perfectly with the room's aesthetic. This project showcases how simple IKEA furniture can be elevated to create a feature piece that complements a room's style. We love the personalized charm it brings to the space.

1 PRO TIP
Hey everyone! This week I received a question about what you should think about when assembling and disassembling IKEA products. I thought it was a great question!
When tackling an IKEA hack, properly disassembling the original furniture and reassembling your customized version are crucial steps. Rushing through assembly can lead to instability, while sloppy disassembly can damage components. Here are a few tips for smooth sailing:
Take photos and make notes during disassembly. This provides a handy reference for reconstructing later. Organize and label parts, including all hardware like screws and bolts.
Work methodically when taking apart the piece. Use proper tools to avoid stripping or breaking connecting hardware. Don't force anything - find the technique to release components.
Sand and prep parts while disassembled. It's much easier to paint, stain, or replace components before reassembly. Just be sure to protect surfaces and keep dust away.
Study the original instructions for assembly order and technique. Reassemble using the same logical sequence. Look up instructions online if needed.
Ensure all joints are tight and hardware is securely fastened, but be cautious not to over-tighten. Getting the tension right takes finesse.
Follow all safety measures like wearing gloves and eye protection. Power tools require extra precautions. Enlist help for large units.
Patience and care will be rewarded with a stable finished product. Don't rush or skip steps during assembly. With practice, IKEA furniture can be seamlessly hacked and customized.
Let me know if you have any other questions on smoothly disassembling and reassembling IKEA pieces when doing DIY projects! Proper assembly approach prevents many headaches.
